Dusko Tosic is a Serbian soccer player. He plays as a defender for the Red Star Belgrade soccer team. Let’s learn more about Dusko Tosic including his life and career.

He was born on January 19, 1985 in Zrenjanin. He grew up in the nearby village of Orlovat. Like many children in that area, Dusko began playing soccer locally. He showed an excellent aptitude and skill for the game and was therefore encouraged.

His skills continued to develop and he eventually was able to begin his soccer career by playing for OFK Beograd in his native Serbia. However he moved to the French club Sochaux during the 2006 and 2007 season. He ended spending only one season with this club due to the interest and demand he was getting from other clubs in Germany, Italy and Spain.

He also made his International debut at that time by playing against Norway in November 2006. At that time the Norway national team was a highly skilled and proficient opponent. However during that match, the game ended on a friendly tie score.

Dusko was transferred to the Werder Bremen team for the 2007-08 season. His contract started at that time and went through 2011. His performance on the team was good but not great. However on February 1, 2010, his contract with Bremen was dissolved.

Tosic then signed up with the Portsmouth team on February 12, 2010. However due to financial problems with this team, Tosic’s resignation with the Premier League was withheld and he was forced to leave the club very shortly after signing with them. He became an unused substitute in Portsmounth’s 4 to 1 fifth round win at the FA Cup in Southampton but failed to make the team the following year.

But he signed a loan deal to play for QPR until the end of the 2010 season. Then on July 7, 2010, Tosic joined the Red Star Belgrade team and signed a three year contract.

During the 2010-11 season Tosic had a total of 29 apps and scored only one goal.

In 2008 Tosic married the Serbian pop singer Jelena Karleusa. She was born on August 17, 1978. In addition to being a Serbian pop singer, Jelena is also a fashion designer and former columnist. She gained fame and prominence with her debut turbo folk album entitled Ogledalce which was released in 1995. Since then she has been a popular Serbian female singer.

Tosic and Jelena have two daughters together. Her first daughter was born on September 7, 2008 and was name Atina after the Greek goddess Athena. Their second daughter name Nika was born on September 7, 2009. She was named after the Nika who was the Greek goddess of victory.

As their schedule permits, the couple travels together. This can become difficult given the diverse activities of the couple. But to try to spend more time together, Tosic also assists Jelena with her new fashion wear line.
